EDGE

EDGE Program

Personalized Learning. Real-World Experiences. A Path to Graduation.

Every student's journey is different. EDGE is Sturgis High School's alternative education program designed for students who need a different path to success. Through personalized instruction, strong relationships, and flexible scheduling, students receive the support they need to recover credits, stay engaged, and graduate prepared for life after high school. EDGE gives students the edge with real-world experience by providing internships or Career & Technical Training (CTE) programming that connect them to their future careers. Students in EDGE remain Sturgis Public Schools students while learning in an environment built around their individual goals and needs.

Why Choose EDGE?

Credit Recovery

Students can recover credits and work toward graduation through individualized learning plans designed around their academic needs.

Small Class Sizes

With approximately one teacher for every 12 students, EDGE provides individualized attention, stronger relationships, and consistent academic support.

Career & Internship Opportunities

Students can participate in Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs and internship experiences that connect classroom learning with future careers.

Focused Learning Environments

EDGE offers a smaller, supportive setting where students can build confidence, develop independence, and stay focused on achieving graduation.

Proven Student Success

Graduates toss their caps in the air against a bright blue sky.

Helping Students Cross the Finish Line

Students who need credit recovery often face significant barriers to earning a diploma. Through individualized support, small class sizes, and meaningful relationships, EDGE helps students successfully complete graduation requirements.

EDGE students graduate at a rate of more than 80%, demonstrating the impact of personalized learning and dedicated support.

You could make this into a statistic section:

  • 80%+ Graduation Rate
  • 1:12 Teacher-to-Student Ratio
  • Credit Recovery Opportunities
  • Internships & CTE Career Experiences

Real-World Learning

Education doesn't stop in the classroom.

EDGE encourages students to connect academics with future careers through:

  • Career & Technical Education (CTE)
  • Internship opportunities
  • Career exploration
  • Workforce readiness skills
  • Postsecondary planning

These experiences help students build confidence while preparing for college, skilled trades, military service, or the workforce.

A Supportive Learning Community

EDGE has its own dedicated learning space within Sturgis High School, including its own entrance on the east side of the building and staff. Students benefit from a welcoming environment where they are known personally and supported academically every step of the way.
