We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Sarah Arreola has been selected for the Dean of Students position at Sturgis High School. She was one of ten internal candidates to apply for the position, and will officially start in her new role on August 3rd. Mrs. Arreola is replacing Mr. Jimmy Lamb, who was recently selected for the Principal position at Sturgis Middle School, and will transition from Dean of Students to Assistant Principal after she has completed a K-12 School Administration Certification program.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Spanish both from Western Michigan University. She started her teaching career in LaGrange, Indiana in 2004, previously served as an adjunct Spanish instructor at Trine University, and has been a teacher at Sturgis High School since 2014. In addition to being a Spanish teacher, she has taught two levels of English Language Learners, dual enrollment courses in coordination with Glen Oaks Community College, served as department chair, and sophomore class sponsor.

Sarah is a positive and compassionate instructional leader. She has an ease about herself when connecting with students, families, and staff. Sarah said “I have lived in Sturgis all of my life, am happy to be able to work in the community in which I live, and to be part of the Sturgis Public School family.”
